I saw a 1903 Springfield rifle for sale that appears to have all the national match features. It's serial number 1272515. It has a 2-28 dated barrel. Is it possible to check to see if this rifle is listed as a national match. Merry Christmas to all... Chris

It MAY be one that was sold or used "out of service" and not recorded. Can you post pictures?

Rick is correct i have one in my collection just like it. Not all NM rifles can be documented.

But it has to have all the correct features. If it doesn't it is just another service rifle.

I'm having trouble getting the photos to post. Can I e-mail them to someone to look at? Chris
You can email them to me and I can post them, if you like.
I'll send a private message with my address.

My favorite 03 is 1400694 with a 5-44 HS barrel and Lyman rear sight.

It has both the reverse safety and the headless cocking piece both of which are/were available on early NM M1903's.
FWIW.
Very nice rifle. I also have a NM with headless cocking piece and reverse safety. A unique rifle. Very different

I appreciate all the assistance with my questions about this rifle. I'm not very knowledgeable about the 1903s. Based on the photos - and the serial number being in the middle of a group of SRS documented rifles - is this a correct Springfield National Match? thanks, Chris
Looks good to me. Military "team" rifles probably won't show on SRS, just civilian "sales" rifles. You definitely have a NM rifle there.
Thanks Mike for posting the pics for us to see !!
