Found an remington 03 i am interested in. It is in the 320xxxx range. I think it is a modified from what i can see in the photos. Idea of value? Also the protruding screw behind the trigger guard is troubling me.

Looks like bubba got at it with his chroming machine. And it appears to have at least some rebluing too. That will drop the value. Re-doable though. It's worth whatever you're willing to pay for it knowing it "needs" refinishing. They're running $7-$800 on the assorted auction sites.
What's the barrel like?
I think the screws are just not in all the way. Hard to tell from a picture. They go in any more? Or are they too long replacements?
The S/N range of 3200000 to 3209999 is 1941. Not that it matters.

I can make out a chromed trigger guard, upper and lower band assemblies, sling swivel assembly, and possibly the butt plate. If they bother you, replacing just those parts wouldn't be that big a deal (although replacing the upper band will require removing/reinstalling the front sight blade). From what I can see, the scant stock looks to be in nice condition. Giving an estimated value would require a lot more information. One of the key criteria will be the condition of the bore.

Sold one very similar with GREAT bore for 450.00. Sold a correct one with frosted bore for $690.00. Should give you a base line. The chromed parts can be unchromed and blues. It's a little pricey and weakens the metal surface hardness. Dechrominng and parkerizing is more affordable, same issue.

Since various arts are chrome. I would assume it was a Vet club saluting rifle. Bore condition on these is usually horrible. The CMP sold a bunch of these a few years ago. As I remember, they were about $250. If the asking price is more than $350. I would hold out for a better rifle.

Looks like you got hold of one of the "defective" tables of manufacture. A Remington M1903 in that serial range dates to about September, 1942. There are a couple out there that list ALL Remington M1903s as "1941".

The parts you need to replace the chromed parts should be available at parts dealers or on eBay assuming you're planning to restore it to a more military-like configuration. You're basically buying a stock, barrel and action. Everything external looks good but be very wary of the bore. I keep seeing the same VFW M1917 Eddystone for sale at a gun show that's in beautiful shape but the bore was so loaded with deposits from firing blanks that I could barely see my bore light.
