Nose caps?

Is there a difference between the 45-70 and 50-70 nose caps? I cannot find any information.

Musket nose caps and .50-70 nose caps are exactly the same, and are finished bright, while .45-70 nose caps are sized to fit a slightly smaller diameter barrel, and are blued.
