I have a original 3rd Model Brown Bess that I need to place a value on. Its completely original and has been in just two collections for 50 years. No damage anywhere, functions perfectly needs no work on it at all. All proofs on the barrel are perfect and the GR & crown plus TOWER on the lock are perfect as well. I remember dating this musket to about 1808 by a couple of features years ago. I bought it from a serious collector 30 years ago who was reducing his collection due to his age (75 yrs old) at the time.
Any help or comments is appreciated.

Regards,
Don

It should have a 39" barrel. Its what they call the India patteren I believe. Pictures would be nice. I had a 2nd model at one time sold it to a good friend of mine. I would say in the 2500 range I will ask my friends who collect that period. Not seeing it its hard to tell.

03collector, thank you for the response. I will try to get photos posted today but I think you answered my question of value. It is a 39" barreled India Pattern musket.
