I while back I asked for suggestions on where to send my Garand parts and receiver to be rebuild. After thinking I decided to send it to Dean's Gun Restoration. So far it's been a good experience. Michelle sent me a few pictures of Medium-Fancy stocks to choose from, I've made my choice but thought it would be fun to see what others liked.
Stocks are number from 1 to 6, left to right. I debated between two of them myself, but tell me which one you guys prefer.

DGR does great work. They did a garand for me years ago. Altho I like fancy wood on sporter arms I went for their basic walnut and finish. At the time they were using Wenig wood stocks.

I really like the look of all of them, but the stock second in from the left is super nice.

#3 from the left, or #6. But that's just me.

Second from left is nice but most likely number six.

Number 1.
Obviously all of these are very nice and above average. Most of these seem to have fancier grain on the right side vs the left. For that reason I would pick #2 or #6 because they are more balanced.

Drum roll, I chose #2, second from the left. I narrowed it down to between #2 and #6 as I wanted some tiger striping in the stock. I liked the darker color of #6 more, but #2 looked like it may have a bit more curl to it as you go from the butt end to the front. Hard to tell in those pictures. Hopefully it will darken a little after a finish is applied.
Time is getting close, I better start digging out some Garand ammo;)

Frankly none of them. If it's for an award rifle, fine, but I shoot mine an like straight grain dark black walnut. To me that's what a Garand supposed to look like.
Guess I'm odd, I like #5. The grain is laid out nicely from butt through wrist and continues into the forward area as I see it.
Which one did you decide to go with?
