I have an opportunity to purchase an Ithaca 1911.

Please see the photo. I realize that the slide is NOT original to the pistol. I haven't had the chance to disassemble it to ID the other components.

Curious to see what a fair value may be. I realize sellers want top dollar and buyers want to pay the least. What do you think? Thanks

Thanks...it was at a pawn shop and after some
investigation I decided on offering him $600...as I'd spend between $150-$300
for the correct slide.

He didn't accept my offer as he was into it for more than that...didn't ask
how much but I advised he overpaid...of course he got his feelers hurt
and said we could agree to disagree on the value.

He was asking $1900 for the pistol.

That price seems absolutely out of the line from my point of view but others may disagree.
