I am in the market for a new EDC knife and I wanted to see what everyone is carrying these days. I am leaning towards and auto (OTF) but I am open to anything.
Post pictures of your EDC knifes. I am currently carrying a MOD CQD Mark 1.

Hehe, had to look up "edc knife" . . . looks like that's "every day carry". Mine is a mini Victorinox Swiss Army with a 1.25" blade. It rattles around in my pocket with my loose change and gets quite a bit of use. On the odd occasion when I want to carry something larger, it's a Buck Folding Hunter with a 4" blade in a belt sheath. For "edc", I rely on a Sig P239.
Welcome to the forum, kickshot7.
I tend to loose mine every once in a while so $20.00 Gerber, doesn't hurt as bad when after a hunt or hike it's missing.

I too carry a Swiss for everyday. If carrying a Buck on my belt, the Swiss is still in my pocket.

This one has gotten the most time; I've carried since new in 1973. The notch in the scale and chestnut bone was replaced by Case a few years ago. They don't seem to have red bone anymore like that on the other side but they polished up the blades and bolster so it's good for another 40 years or so...40322

leatherman. I have 2. SUPERTOOL for everyday. WAVE for going out.[nice and clean] but you have to wear a belt. too heavy for the pocket.
Day to day I carry a Benchmade 5000 Auto-Presidio. On Sunday's and times when I am in dress clothing, I carry a Benchmade Auto-Benchmite. Out in the woods/fields or at the range, I carry a knife that once belonged to my identical-twin brother (deceased) ... plain stainless steel USN knife he had when he was in the Navy. The afternoon after his funeral, saw where his wife and thrown it in the trash along with a good bit of his gun/reloading equipment. Put the knife in my pocket. Dumped the rest in the trunk of my car. Offered to sell it for her but she just wanted it all gone. Still have a few cases of rifle ammo that had been pitched out. The knife? It's on my dresser. Sincerely. bruce.

Opposite for me. Once I started carrying a Swiss I gave my Leatherman (first model) a rest. While working a gun show with my eldest a few months ago, he was looking to buy a Leatherman. I gave him mine and he loves it. I guess it depends on the duties we require our knives to do.

to each his own
by the way leatherman has a great warranty service. I abused my first one so bad, snapped off blades, twisted screwdrivers etc, that when I sent it back my friends laughed that they would never honor the warranty. but 9 days later I received a brand new one.

Really? The one I handed down was in fine shape but for a nick in the wire cutter. Never bothered to return it since I felt I was the one who abused it snipping the head off a trim nail. (too lazy to walk back to the toolbox)
I don't suppose they would still have a early 1980's model just lying around. I just looked at the web site and they say they retired it in 2004. Well outside their 25 year limit.

Buck 110, an Old Reliable, or a classic if you prefer.

If you can find a HK OTF made by Benchmade as they have discontinued the HK line. Deals ($100) are available if you can find them. The only downside is they use less expensive (440C) steel in the blade. Another inexpensive OTF auto is the Schrade Out the Front Viper Assisted Open Knife($60). I don't have any OTF knifes but I have a few autos and HK and Schrade are the best value.
Most of the time I carry a Schrade SC60B auto manufactured in Taiwan of 4116 steel. They are available for less than $30.
i am also carrying a MOD CQD Mark 1

Camilus electricians model. I've carried it for two years now without losing it. I think that's a record.
I carry a Boker Automat Kalashnikov 74. converted to auto. Fairly cheap, tough as nails.

I found the Kalashnikov 74 with upgraded S30V steel blade online. I purchased the mini and the full sized 74 in CPM S30V. The full sized knife is now my every day carry knife along with a Victorinox Classic Alox on a key ring.

My all around blade is a Puma Master. It is an old one, made in Germany. I wear out the pouch just about every third year. Regards, Clark

My usual EDC is a vintage Benchmade Mini Reflex automatic with the original ATS-34 blade. I also have a Microtech Ultratech OTF that I tote now and then.

After having Benchmade Police Automatics (w/and w/0 safety) and an HK Benchmade Auto, and, in the past the older Spyderco "hole in the blade" (which kept getting lost) models, I have reverted back to an old favorite auto opening knife - A Kershaw "made in USA" 1670BLKST - Ken Onion Design. Just as fast as an auto, without the hassels or high price.
I carry it in my right front pocket, and have one at my remote work site and one in town to avoid arguing with TSA about it. CC
