REMINGTON RAND Type 2

This is one of my REMRANDS, # 941781 this is a Type 2, all correct except its finish that somehow is too shiny, makes the gun look almost blued and smoother than the others, still all the marks look nice and crisp, I wonder HOW they did it without rounding the edges, sanding and somehow blueing it without filling any of the markings escutcheon included which is quite visible.
All its correct parts would me make think so, BUT my only doubt is the finish.

The point is I think somehow it has been "refinished" as the feed ramp should show the bare metal (in the white) and it doesn't, BUT how is possible that a refinished gun still bears all its crisp marks and very sharp edges?

It is relatively easy to hand sand/buff a pistol and keep the edges and markings sharp. As long as you are patient, use a flat sanding block and stay away from buffing wheels then you get the kind of result seen on your pistol. Here's a pre-war commercial example that can almost pass for factory finish.
