Can someone help me on this rifle. Pawn shop find. 1927 receiver, 7-42 barrel, no stamps on the stock looks to be in excellent condition green parkerizing is extremely nice. But really what is weird is the Arabic like symbols on bolt. Also can someone check the #1272670 with DCM?
Has R on rear sight base.
U on the rear barrel band.
H on the Bayonet lug.
Extra gas relief on left side.

No hit on 1903 #1272670. Several numbers both above and below that number are shown as National Match rifles. I suspect the rifle started life as a National Match but was rebarreled in 1942, or later, and issued as a service rifle. The serial number on the bolt suggests it was a NM but the stampings on the bolt handle are confusing.

Hatcher hole? Any markings under the handguard on the barrel forward of the RSB?

Your bolt appears to be an early Remington 1903 bolt. Check under the handle it probably has a large or small R. Looks to be a typical SA WWII rebuild. If the bore and throats spec good it will probably be a good shooter. Are there any markings on the stock?

The R on the bolt has had a pin punch through it. No markings on stock at all.

You appear to have a USMC rifle. The bolt is a Remington bolt and the unusual markings are Remington subinspection marks.
