The MC-1 Survival Knife was officially adopted by the USAF in 1958 and has been in use by other armed services as well since that time.
The Logan/Smyth Knife Company located in Venice, Florida was the third company to make the MC-1 knife and supply it to the U.S. Government. The Logan/Smyth Company’s contact lasted from early 1987 to early 1988 thus making it the most rare and sought after manufacturer of the three companies who produced the MC-1.
This knife has a 3 1/8" clip point blade marked "LOGAN/SMYTH/VENICE, FL./ U. S. A." with an additional unmarked shroud line hook cutting blade. Bright orange plastic handles and a staple for a lanyard complete the knife. Overall length is 7 1/4".
The knife appears new and is in perfect working order. It has its original factory sharpened main blade along with a factory sharp shroud cutting blade. The orange scales are in excellent condition although there is a light scratch on one of the scales. The knife locks up well, however, the unit does exhibit slight “blade wobble” which is typical with most Logan/Smyth MC-1 knives. The knife does need a light cleaning.
The buyer will have a 3 day inspection and the buyer’s money will be refunded (minus my shipping) if not as described.
No sales to anyone under the age of 18.
Priced at $95.00 delivered (lower 48).
