Got out for a bit this morning with my M25 with Kreiger ss in JAE with Leupold 8.5 - 25 for a little practice. Been awhile since she was out on the range. Trying a little different fodder today.

175 smk in Berdan DAG brass with Tula primer over 43.2 gr of RE 15.
running at 2500 fps. For the 10 rnds fired max spread was .70 ". Looks like I need to skip my morning coffee next time.

Have been for many years. Cases sorted by weight are the next best thing to Lapua and I hate chewing up Lapua in an auto loader.

Yep, I think .7 moa is not to shabby for an M-14 type rifle. I must admit, this baby has the best of the best in her. Not cheap, but sure is fun.

is there a reason your shooting mat is backwards?

not being snarky, just curious if you find a benefit to it that way

Yep, that black is way to hot under the rifle when the sun is out.

Shot this in Sept using 150 gr Berger FB rapids from 100 yds prone supported with my M25 M14 type rifle shown above. It's all fun.

Looking good. Morning coffee has burned me to, no pun intended. I’d say you got that rifle tuned just right.

Thanks. Took some time to find fodder that the Kreiger barrel really would enjoy.

Still just curious? So, why reload Berdan? Are you making the case that somehow Berdan primed brass is inherently more accurate?

I hate to burst your bubble but there are M1A's out there that will do most everything you are showing using LC factory issue ammo.

Because I have found that the 2 flash holes in properly prepped Berdan brass will give me consistently .2 moa better accuracy than either LC or Federal brass. Since Art Luppino started the 10 dot 100 yd challenge on the M14 forum, no one has matched or beat my scores to this point.
I would love to see my bubble burst, but I haven't seen any M1A yet that can match the .7 moa consistent 10 rnd groups that my M25 with heavy Kreiger stainless and handloads has produced. When and if that happens , it would just mean that I would need to work harder. Took me 52 years of working with many M14 type rifles to get to this point. 5/2/15 I did 14 shots in a row in .75 moa using DAG brass and 135 gr Berger FB.
