Buttstock was replaced.
Bayonet adapter is wrong.

As long as the receiver itself is legit I'm happy. I don't mind jf it was reworked at arsenal

It is a WWI trench gun receiver with the hand stamped "US" and Ordnance bomb. The buttstock is the later fluted type. WWI 1897 bayonet adaptors should have either a patent applied for or a patent 1918 mark on it. If the gun was reworked at an arsenal there probably should be a rework mark or at least a P proof mark on the stock or receiver.

Beat me to it. Original WWI trench that someone probably put back together. The bayonet lug/handguard may not be real.
