I know up until one time you could have sent back a low number receiver to the then DCM for a receiver exchange. When did that program end, and did it work just as a swap? TIA...

A now deceased friend did that some time in the 1960's and got a high number receiver with a star gaged barrel back. He promptly cut the barrel off and made a sporter.
