Just picked up my new Springfield Armory 5 incher today. Was going too house her in a Vietnam era general officers holster, but pac rats made a home out of it. Modifications this girl will get is a full length recoil rod, a extractor that will let me use steel cased ammo, extended thumb safety an slide release along with a mag well modification. Also will try get some Novak sights if they will fit an a good set of Pacmyer or Hough grips. Ben also thinking of getting a 4.25 inch upper slide setup for when I go to the movies or church This is my first New 45 in over 15 years an it feels good. Nothing feels better than real steel in the hand, better than plastic. :headbang:

It's always fun to get a new 1911 and tune it up...I like EGW stuff but there is a lot of good stuff out there.

So true, could have bought a fully tricked out 1911, but heck then there would be no fun is doing it myself.
