Would any one know what the barrel marks
Mean? I am trying to date4288242883 this barrel. This is on my Remington 870 .

Harold, can you confirm the marks? They look like: A P S H. The first mark may be an inspection mark; the two in the middle date marks (P for June and S for 1969); and the last mark an assembly mark. Remington also sometimes placed rework marks next to the original marks in this same area. Don't take this to the bank, but I know some Remington barrels were marked as I describe.
Do you know the date of your 870? Is it 1969 by chance? I think Remington reused the S year mark again in 1998.
Yes , APSH is correct. The ser: S0010xxV looks to be factory parked

The S prefix to the serial number indicates a late 1960s to early 70s manufacture date. The V suffix is the 12 gauge designation.
