Is that 7.92x57 a SMKH round? I have a mint box of that from 1940 in stripper clips. Issued to riflemen in case they come up against light armored targets. True Krupp Widia (Tungsten Carbide) cores. Things changed quickly as the war went on.

togar, the 7,92x57mm German cartridge is a 1938 dated ball cartridge.

Interesting that the Soviets made-up and tested similar cartridges but used the 12,7x108mm during the early war years

The 7.92 x 94mm was used in the single shot PZB. Had one in the shop years ago. Collector ammo ran $15 each. Turned it into an 8mm Rem Mag by means on a chamber insert when a guy bought the thing. Said he was going to use it for ground hogs.
