You left off "Take your hat off indoors; especially when sitting down to a table to eat".

#9 and #32 are things which might somehow fit into Vern's 'City Boy' thread. They seemed to have slipped away completely in the city except for a few exceptional cases. My son berated his cousin when they were in high school. His cousin skipped an important swim meet to meet up with a trollop at a local hot dog stand. Listening to my kid jump down his throat about responsibility, camaraderie, duty and honor...made me proud to be his dad. My son wasn't even on the swim team, or at that school!

great LIST.
I came up with this list for my son when he was 17 and Knew it all !
1) Be home within 20 minutes after work, doesn't matter if you had a flat tire!
2) Do what your told
3) Don't do what your told NOT to do.
4) No booze, no drugs, no sex.

that was the revised list from the 10 commandments? (he didn't want to remember 10 items)
can anybody here recite the 10 commandments without having to look them up?

I can not quote them and do not have any reference but I understand Christ mentioned them but in much stricter terms. For instance "You should not commit adultery with your neighbor's wife, but I say on to you if you even lust after your neighbor's wife, you have sinned" and so it went. The "Old Testament" of courses is the Jewish 'bible'. Jesus was a Jew and his original mission was to reform the corruption of the Jewish "church". He failed in this so his teachings were picked up and followed by the 'Christian church'. I doubt he would approve of most of them to-day however.

Like a lot of these kinds of posts, there are some gems. Mostly lame. The key is to find to good ones and eliminate the silly. Hey, I can use that.
18 good. 21 lame.

actually you can find them in the new testament as well, they are just not all in one place like they are in Exodus.
