View Full Version : Spam Can WWII St. Louis
Just curious. is there interest in spam cans for collectors? I have a can of 432 rds. in 8 rd. clips and bandoleers that I believe is St.Louis ordnance.

Some people collect them but more so to shoot the contents.
Spam cans for collectors is more about the vintage of the ammo. If it's not W.W. II dated and all the same date, it's just milsurp. The clips can be vintage or not too. Plus the condition matters to collectors as well. And if the can is opened or not. Lotta considerations for collector grade stuff.
I'm betting this is WWII as St. Louis closed in 1945. Unopened can so not sure what year. I don't think there are many of the 432 rd. cans around. lots of 4 bandoleer. I would think it would be a great prop for a re-enactor.

Saint Louis came out of mothballs in late Korea era.
