View Full Version : 6.5 Creedmoor Upper
Can you put a 6.5 Creedmoor upper on an Ar15 lower that has a rifle length buffer? Wasn't sure if an Ar10 lower receiver is required for this caliber upper.
Thanks
The 6.5 Creedmoor is a necked down .308 Winchester and can be used on a AR10 / AR308 lower. The AR10 upper is larger overall and it will not attach to a AR15 lower. The AR10 lower receiver has a larger magazine well and the attachment points are farther apart.

The 30 TC which was based on the 308 was the basis for the 6.5 creedmoor. The 260 Remington is more a direct descendant of the original 308. AR10 parts are hard to switch from manufacturer to manufacture. AR10 and AR 15 uppers and lowers as mentioned above do not interchange. A creemoor has to be build on an AR10 style rifle.
