View Full Version : early M1 bolts
I noticed there is a difference in the milling cuts on these two early bolts. Do not think
it is rare, just not common to find. The early bolts were well made and still in use at
the end of production435254352643527
What are the numbers/characters stamped above the drawing number of the left bolt?
It is a R 38 and a large punch mark next to the 40
Have seen this before on no revision bolts
Most if not all revision 1 bolts have a letter or number on the bottom, I use to keep track
of them. The no revision bolt is without a number or letter on the bottom
Thank you for the information. I will have to check some of my older bolts.
How early is early? Is there any way to tell? Have a couple of rifle's I'll take a look at. Maybe Gus knows something? Sincerely. bruce.
The model shop bolts had a different (sideways figure eight) ejector cut-out not like the issue bolt
