M1903 sight leaf variations

Just looking though my parts and noticed all the variations

Also have found the early Rock Island rear sight on serial number 64145 with RIA 3-07 dated barrel. The
early leaf is without the top rib in back and the slide is almost square on the left side. I did find a spare
rear sight like this one and used it on my four digit restoration436094361043611

I found your photos very interesting! I was pleased to see the Perry Point rear sight, but you didn't show the slide or the marking on the base. And the slides come in two different thicknesses.

Your Rock Island rear sights were also interesting. One other early Rock Island rear sight variant exists, and I've only seen one of them. And a late Rock Island rear sight variant exists with an ordnance bomb on the leaf and no "volley" notch.

O.K. I give up...what is a "Perry Point" sight?.. Is it a manufacturer ? or a modification of some type? I found a OL type replacement sight leaf in my spares box that is unmarked and has the square stop at the top of the rear of the leaf

Do they all have the triangular aperture? I have one with no markings on the base off a Springfield rifle made in 1938. I don't need it anymore. But would like to know what I have.

Perry Point was a WWII spare replacement rear sight manufacturer. Your unmarked leaf appears to be from a Perry Point rear sight.

Perry Point made complete rear sight assemblies. Most were marked with a double mirror'd "P" on the left side of the movable base.

All M1903 rear sights have a triangular cutout in the drift slide. A USMC variant exists which does not have the triangular cutout. The USMC variant has a single 0.1" diameter round hole near the bottom.
