rear sight question

My books are packed up at the moment so I can't look this up... were any L type rear sights unmarked on the base? If so, should they be marked somewhere on the leaf?

Most but not all companies used an unmarked base and unmarked leaf at one time or another. So the only marking was the S on the left side of the sight. Winchester never marked the base or the leaf. Inland had more unmarked rear sights then marked ones.
