I saw a M1 Carbine advertised at an estate sale. What’s the average price of one in good condition?

A non import rebuilt marked M1 is in the $800 to $1000 depending on over all condition and location. Some areas they are higher and some lower but not by much. Imports a good $100 less. But condition is the big factor over all.

"...depending on over all condition and location..." And who made it. There are several brands of commercial Carbine. Some of those are plain junk(Most Universals). A few are exact copies. A BNIB commercial Carbine like the current crop out of Inland have an MSRP of $1139.00. An Auto-Ordnance copy runs $849.99 at Cabela's. A real W.W. II vintage Inland runs around 2 grand on the auction sites. Even the auction site prices vary from place to place, like Tuna says. Most sellers on them are dealers too. Cabela's has prices varying from about $800 to nearly 2 grand.
You'll see a lot of 'em advertised as "All correct" too. Really no such thing as none of the original makers made all the parts. That and 99.99% of all Carbines went through an arsenal rebuild after W.W. II. Weapons techs do not care who made what part.
And buy the rifle. Not the story. There's no such thing as a "Bring Back". The troopies were not allowed to keep their issued kit.

speaking usgi guns, anything from $400 for a blue sky beater, on up to several thousand. all depends on which carbine make, originality, and condition. seems to me average run from about $750-$1100 or so.
