Photo shows three cartridges from the 1910 to 1923 period, two were used in Colt firearms and the
third in the UK.
Can anyone I.D. these cartridges44725
.38 auto, (not ..380) used in the 1902 type colt,
not sure,
.455 eley
I think there are five different cartridges chambered in Colt autos back then. .25 ACP. .32 ACP. .380 ACP. .38 Colt and .45 ACP. OK so I will take a stab at this. 32 auto, .380 auto and maybe 9mm Mars??????????
Tuna, you forgot the 9.8mm Colt Automatic made for Roumania and entered there by Eugene Reising but not adopted, before WW1
First cartridge is the 9.8mm Colt
Ok so 9.8, .45 auto and .455?
Almost correct except the middle cartridge is the 45 Thompson which is 1/8 inch longer case and has a 250 gr bullet. This
was manufactured for the 1923 Thompson and loaded by REM-UMC.
Third cartridge is the 455 Webley automatic used in both the Webley self loading pistol adopted by the Royal Navy in 1912
and used during WW1, some early Colt 1911 pistols were also chambered for this cartridge too
