Interesting little group of early cartridges from the black powder days
except for the third from the left which is a 22-3000 G&H smokeless
cartridge from the 1930's.

left to right: 22 WCF (center fire), UMC 25-20, 22-3000 G&H, Peters 25-21,

WRA 25-25 and UMC 28-30-12045868

The 28-30-120 was designed in 1900 for the Stevens single shot rifle and lasted until 1918. Winchester also chambered their low-wall and hi-wall
single shot rifles for this cartridge. The Stevens Arms Co would rebore your barrel and chamber it to the 28-30-120 too.

Single shot shooters still use the 28-30 120 as a quality 7mm barrel (Douglas) with a 1 in 10 twist plus a single shot gunsmith to chamber it
is all you need to start out. Custom brass is available and excellent smokeless powder can be used though some still use black power and claim
accurate to 300 yards. Many different 7mm bullet moulds are around too
