I have no notes regarding having asked this question in the years past and I was reminded of it today while inspecting an '85 DCM rifle (safe queen). The top of the cocking handle has a W on it and I have never found an answer to why? A 6 SA oprod with a letter?
Can anyone enlighten me?
Thanks.

Nothing immediately jumps to mind. SA was great in marking certain parts when testing new procedures, but unfortunately many of those markings and their meaning have been lost. Guess that once an issue was addressed, that was the end of it.

Dan,
Thanks. I went back through all the notes & posts I have saved over the years (CSP & J) and I could not find anything.46095

I would say those letter or number stamps have to do with manufacture.

The only op rod worth a lot of money is this one in my photo,46096 with the drawing
