View Full Version : USMC Machete sheath and canteen cover
Went by the LGS today and the had a USMC marked machete sheath marked U.S.M.C. BOYT -44- with a LEGITIMUS COLLINS & CO 1944 machete. It was on a U.S. marked cartridge belt. Also a canteen cover that has crossed flaps and a funnel hole in the bottom, I looked it up in "GRUNT GEAR" by Talkoff and it is on Page 167. The canteen is marked U.S. S.M.CO. 1944, the cup is marked U.S. K.M.CO. 1944.
My question deals mainly with the scabbard.... Did Boyt make them for the Corps or is it a Repo?
Thanks,
AJ

BOYT made leather scabbards.
BOYT made leather scabbards.
Yes, they did. They also made some in canvas that were marked U.S. But I can not find any marked U.S.M.C. So I am thinking this is a repo.

Is it for a full length machete or a corpsman knife? I've seen BOYT USMC marked leather scabbards for that short machete.

The blade of the Ilegitimus machete is 18 inches.
