I have a rear sight base that came off a drill rifle that's slightly bent. I want to piece the rear sight back together with some other parts I have on hand. When I stripped the old sight I noticed there was no set screw drilled in the right front of the base like other examples I have seen in the past.
The base had two holes drilled through that were not tapped and were not in the usual location. The question I have is were all A3 sight bases drilled and tapped for a set screw or were some just drifted on and staked in place originally.
This is the first time I seen a base like this I thought they all had the set screw in them. Just curious, thanks.
