Sgt. Pepper taught the band to play.
Tomorrow night marks 20 yrs since my friend and I hiked up a hill with his three daughters to camp out on New Years eve. Those girls were pre-teen. Now they have kids of their own.
A lot of great memories of camping and hiking. Some great stories. Some, well.. on that particular night the youngest ate too many smores and and threw up in her sleep. Kind of messy.
The mine we camped near had an intact headquarters. The first time we visited it(30 yrs ago)the place still had silverware in the drawers and furniture in the rooms and now it has all been leveled by the forest service. There are still some buildings in the area that are nice enough that people spend weekends in them.
I have had the privilege of having a good friend who has taken me on hundreds of miles of hikes to beautiful places. One of his daughters has even started a business in CO. to take people on hikes and camp outs.
It's interesting that as a kid I calculated that I might still be alive in the year 2000. YTK. I think that was the date that everyone was freaked out about the end of toilet paper or something.
