Here are three of my favorites, well they all are actually!
1880 triangular rod bayonet.
1870 type II, still searching for that elusive type I
1884 manufactured 1889 with a pristine sling and bayonet with scabbard.

Nice collection of favorites. How heavy is the largest rifle?

Not really sure how heavy they are?? I think they are all around 9 and a half pounds. A cadet model is 8.42 pounds so a rifle would be somewhat heavier.

Did your 1884 come from Al Frasca?

No it did not. I was lucky enough to find it in local gun store. Al is not an FFL so since I live in NJ he cannot ship a firearm here. They have to be transferred just like a modern firearm 😥

Wonderful rifles. Fascinating at the way obsolete muzzle loading rifles were converted into breech loading cartridge rifles, smaller bores, improved casings, sights, bayonets, etc. Got to figure that it was in the later stages a stop gap till something could be finalized as to a suitable BA rifle. Similar changes were being done by the British w/ their Sniders, Martini Henry, etc. Sincerely. bruce.
