Hey All,
This is a great site for an ammo junkie like me.
Don't know why I haven't found it before. It's right here.

Down the page of posts on pg 1, in posts from togor and RCS on or about 09-05-2018,
there some nice photographs of .45-70 inside primed cartridges and their boxes.
Nice M1 Ball boxes too, from every plant. Cool !

Here is my "Oldest Martial Friend".
He sure would like to see some boxes of his own caliber, .50-70 U.S.

There is a faint "circled ESA cartouche" on the left side. For E. S. Allin of Springfield Armory.

Thanks,
Take Care, Stay Well,

Hey free1954
I took some new photos of my M1871 Rolling Block, caliber .50-70 GOVT.

I looked at egyptian and spanish and danish and questionable rolling blocks, before I stumbled onto this in Reno.
I was makin' my last pass through "The Big Show" on Sunday and off to the side this older Gent was packing up.
I had read about them, and looked at many, but never saw a US model till that time.
I was struck at how beefy they are, and that it still had finish.
And although I had not gone to Reno looking for one,
he made me a deal that I couldn't refuse. And it's mine.

I had already found the .22, Remington, Model 4, and settled.
Things sometimes turn up when you least expect it.
anyway the photos. 10 photos in 2 posts.

A little the worse for wear, but original Frankford Arsenal .50-70.

You might check Al Frasca's website 'Trapdoor Collectors'. He sometimes has old ammo for sale.
