Everyone is familiar with the term "post turtle". It was either created for Nancy Pelosi or came out of hibernation for her. Since then it has been used for most everyone politically.
Today I saw one.
While walking my dog today in a park that has a running stream I came up on a section that had some tree roots under the water. One dead root was sticking straight up and flat on the top. The root is about 2' high, about 2 to 2 1/2" across, no bark or skin. It is slick like a piece of driftwood. It has been there a long time.
As I approached it I noticed what looked like a cap on the top. To my astonishment a small 3" turtle hopped off into the water.
This may sound like an episode of "Ripley's Believe It Or Not" and some may think BS. But it happened. I've seen larger turtles climb up on low lying wood or stumps in the water to sun themselves but never one that could climb straight up. ??????
