Came up on another forum. What is the extra hole in the Bassett mount tool for. I learned this morning what , probably the whole world knew. Roller greaser. Who would ever have thunk dat. This was my reply.

nice scope too, those older Redfields are great scopes

Thanks, that is my shop scope that I use when testing new rifle assemblies, rugged, takes a licking and keeps on ticking. I have Bassett mounts on quite a few of my herd.

Been a long time since I'd seen one of the torqueing tool. Bill told me the proper torque was 22 inch-pounds, so if you don't have the tool, that's the torque to use on the mount screw.
