Re: Fault. The blame will fall wherever the msm places it. Regardless, must take into account how the death rate is affected by independent decisions at state and local level. How many years did major metropolitan areas have to gather resources that they should have anticipated would be needed in the event of a healthcare issue? What plan did these leaders have in place to respond to beyond dialing the White House and pleading for President Trump and the American taxpayer to deliver them from the consequences of their own lack of planning and financial preparation? Sincerely. bruce.

Re: Fault. The blame will fall wherever the msm places it.

Somewhat, but MSM is a minor player in the national TV audience, compared to PBS, CBS, ABC, NBC, CNN, & THEY are in lock-step in the blame-game; they didn't have to think hard to decide, either.

Bruce forgets the businessman's argument, which Trump himself has made, that contingency planning for a day that may never come amounts to a luxury the taxpayers can scarcely afford. It becomes especially true at the state/local level where it can also be argued that the danger of unnecessary bureaucratic duplication happens.

Prior to Covid-19, the assumption held by everyone in the entire country, including this board, was that epidemics were a Federal problem, and the CDC and other agencies would lead the way. It is only after the fact, when Trump's agencies have taken a pass, that we get this new rationalizing that it really is a local problem after all.

Certainly when Ebola touched these shores and Obama was president, conservatives were firm on the idea that the Feds should be on top of this. And they were.

The CDC Trump's agency? What THEY were focused on was how best to spend the TWENTY-FIVE MILLION they'd just been given to erode gun-rights & stigmatize gun-owners, for CDC a higher priority by far than worrying about some foreign disease.

Yes they're Trump's agency. You think he'd have it any other way?

Ray says.. please show where Trump said that...just curious...

Ray says...That's only your opinion..It only becomes a federal problem when the states can not handle it then the states turn to the Feds..Like NY did this time..Then the Feds step in''

Certainly when Ebola touched these shores and Obama was president, conservatives were firm on the idea that the Feds should be on top of this. And they were.

Ray says...show me that..Probably like now when it becomes too much for the states to handle..It only becomes a federal problem when the states can't handle it and it affects the welfare of the nation as a whole...

And Obama was forced to use the Federal government's resource and he probably had to come back to the US from his and his families many oversee tours to do it...Lol

Ray here is a nice clip contrasting Fox's Covid and Ebola coverages. I hope your computer volume situation is straightened out. Note that within youtube you can adjust volume. The video itself is a devastating indictment of the Fox business model and our Canuck friends may well be asking why we Americans put up with this kind of garbage.

Added: worth keeping in mind--11 Ebola cases, 2 deaths in the outbreak.

Old posts...When the information on the virus was in it's very early stages and everyone was talking about it and no one had a handle on it including all the liberal sites. Of course you only show Fox news. You probably just copied the take from your favorite liberal site....Lol
