Just received a recorded message from a purported ATF number, 202-648-9999. Stating that I need to be sure to secure all firearms, ammunition and required paperwork, as we are currently in time of civil unrest.
Has anyone else received this message? I only hold a C/R FFL.

That's pretty weird. Usually when government wants to contact you they send a letter or you get served with papers in person. I would be pretty suspicious. In any case a robocall is not any kind of legal notice.

it's a thing they do,
if you have a C&R or FFL you get a call or an email,
I got an email this morning about 'Civil Unrest'

Even if it's real--what's there to be concerned about?

it's real ,
they want you the dealer to report any break ins, riots, looting etc,
next time I am on my laptop I'll copy/paste the email here

I have no problem with BATFE. It was the first such communication I ever received, a phone message, and I doubt they differentiate between FFL licensees for the purpose of the call. In major cities, a break-in and/or looting of a firearms dealer would have some serious implications. I don't foresee such action out here.

Sure, but wouldn't he do that anyway?
Sure, but wouldn't he do that anyway?
yes, but it makes them feel proactive to send out calls and emails
I've gotten notices in the past when a few LGS's were broken into , just letting us know folks are stealing and to be on the look out
I got both a phone call and an email on Saturday. The message is specific to businesses.

My cousin in the Carson City area got one. He is a class 3 dealer.

This is an important message from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Possible civil unrest in our area may result in looting of businesses. The ATF reminds you to remain vigilant and to take appropriate steps to secure both your firearms inventory and your required records. Please report all suspicious persons or activity to your local police department. Additionally, notify ATF at if you find any of your firearms missing, lost or stolen or if you are a victim of an attempted burglary of your business.
Nearest city to me is 60 miles north of me, Dover, Delaware. As expected, massive protests were reported. I think the city is in curfew.
Got the message. Just a C&R. Oddly, I'd like to see them try to load my 104 year-old Norwegian Krag. Probably shove .30-06 ammo in there.
