Detailing a1967 era Marlin 6Model 57 lever-action..7 era

For cleaning the tube magazine and the inner tube follower, I'll flush the the interior with kerosens and brush the outer tube an d patch it.

Should I consider running a patch down the outer tube loaded with car wax and let dry??

I clean the OD if the inner tube an d apply a dab" of SUPER LUBE .


Any Comments??

I use gun wax (Birchwood Casey) on my firearms, both on wood and metal, but I don't see a reason car wax wouldn't work.

There is a youtube video which I can't get to work here on detailing the rifle if you want to look it up yourself. One of the thing the old boy says is the action is so strong that it would work on cartridges like the .30 blackout.
