View Full Version : Help identifying a c1830 Dutch Flintlock Pistol
My neighbor asked for my help in identifying an Antique pistol he inherited from his father. Old European pistols are out of my experience area. Can someone help me with this? It appears to be a Dutch Sea Service pistol c1830 but the only marking appear Turkish to me. Anyone know anything about this type flintlock?

Haven't a clue but is gorgeous. Did you google it? I did find pictures of ones that look like it.
Yes I googled it and found others but none with Turkish markings. Maybe the Turks ordered the pistols for their small Navy. Yes it is in berg good condition. Could be fired if you wanted.
Don't know either, but it's a beauty.
Modern pistols are ugly and plastic.

That is really nice. One shot with that and then it's edged weapons to carry on the fight.
