10 year compilation of shootings and results re calibers. His results and conclusions are easy to find on the web. His conclusions are basically that stops are usually psychological so any caliber, preferably 380 and above work well.

He taught a revolver class and commented that a revolver works very well for a civilian against a single bad guy. He stresses speed strips and speedloaders. Always carry a reload. Article on the web, by a man who took the course, recaps the course.

There are other articles, info, web site.

Go to the web and look up Greg Ellifritz for above info and more.

William "Wild Bill" Hickock preferred the Colt 36 Navies for faster recovery when is use.

I prefer to carry a revolver over a semi-auto. I will carry when I think its needed.
