New Shilen Alternut System for .22 LR

Shilen has been touting the Alternut system which I'm assuming to be similar to the Savage barrel nut system.

I've done some very successful Savage barrel swaps but was hoping some one here could throw some info about the new Shilen system.

Specifically interested in using the Alternut system on the Remington 40x from the CMP

looks like the only worry would be to have the recoil lug in the right place,
