I can't even bring myself to make a $5 bid on that blade feeling that I might win it at that.

-I can't even bring myself to make a $5 bid on that blade feeling that I might win it at that.-
I am the same. I bid on guns on GB to get them on my watch list. But I'm careful if they(mostly Garands) get up to $900. I might actually win it.

5 billion in stock market gains leads to irrational exuberance. Buckle down for some inflation. We are small fry. Work it if you can. Get used to the term Trillion.

Yup, I do that with things I am afraid I might win. The difference is, if I lose on an auction I still get to study what it sold for. Unless I am paying close attention to Watched items when the auction ends it disappears from my list which isn't too important; I usually have written it off as too expensive long before the end of the auction. My "watch list" encompasses both Watched and Bidding On.
By the way that bayo auction is up there with some of the goofiest I've seen.
