NIW 1911 Magazine: Any Way to ID Manufacturer w/o Unwrapping?

Hello all. I have this 1911 magazine that's still perfectly wrapped in oil paper. Was thinking of selling it but wonder if there's any way to ID it from the wrap. Most I've seen were in green oil paper but this is a black color. Maybe it was green and darkened with age? If there's no way to ID, should I sell as-is, partially unwrap to ID, make a little hole at the toe to look for a mark, some other option? Any thoughts or input would be appreciated.

not that I am aware of,

looks like greasy or waxed paper, you should be able to open and rewrap w\o issue if you take you time,

make sure it is warm (not cold) before you do

More than likely that will be a WWII 1911A1 contract magazine. Beginning in 1943 all the magazines were contract with most being made by the M.S. Little Co., or one of it's sub-contractors, Scoville or Risdon. The General Shaver Division of Remington Rand made field replacement magazines.

As Lyman noted, you can carefully unwrap the paper from the base and see what the marking is on the top of the toe.
