View Full Version : I quit shooting 4 years ago, but I'm getting the urge again ...
I only quit because two other clubs got closed down because they didn't
clean the lead out of their berms (California needs only a small excuse).
Their shooters invaded my club making it tough to find an empty bench,
plus they were a motley looking lot. I bought myself a Ruger 22 air rifle,
but it doesn't quite make it. I guess I'm addicted.
Now I can't decide what I want to shoot - cap n ball, 22, Martini Henry ?
Decisions, decisions.

Cleaning the lead and selling it would seem a no brainer. Trap and skeet clubs do it on a regular basis.
start with the 22 to get back into the fundamentals,
the shoot it all
Yeah, my club did that.
I and a friend a few times collected lead from the 25 yard berm -
on a thursday when the club was closed. As members we had keys.
I now have a lot of range lead I'll never be able to use up.

How about a pump up BB gun and you might have to recycle the BBs .

Hey man, I actually used to do that when I was a kid.
I was shooting my 357 Magnum at an indoor range when suddenly the indoor range shot back at me hitting me in the shoulder with a chunk of lead!
knew a guy, regular customer of my father's, that decided to see what AP would do,
so he shot an engine block with some AP thru a garand,
the jacket peeled off and ricocheted back at him, slicing him across the wrist and forearm,
he was bloody mess when he got to the hospital,

That hardly ever happens. But I did "shoot myself" years ago when some .22 lead came back while doing something silly. Picked the piece out with my pocket knife. Not real serious.

I still have my Crosman 760 as well,
