Freezing rain today so I have been playing in the shop. Cleaned a few rifles and got 5 recent builds ready for some range time.

Rifles in wood stocks are LRBs. One on top is an older M25 and the two lower are LRB M14BR 05119 and 05120 which were put together as reminders of my 19th and 20th birthdays celebrated in Vietnam. Other photos are of the 5 recent builds just hanging around which include those LRBs. Whatta Hobby!

Had a table at the last local gun show. Did pretty good too.

I also was able to find a purchase a late model Polytech M14 from original buyer, whom I knew. I box through it. Very nice rifle. I have an extra USGI M14 buttstock that I bought from Numrich a while back, nice shape but covered in grime. Initial cleaning shows a good walnut stock with promise of tiger striping in the butt area. It will be nice to have a M14 type rifle again.

Just remember that when you put a Poly or Norinco in a USGI stock that you need to place something in the stock to keep the connector lock from sliding out. Usually a glued in popsicle stick does the trick. Personally I like to turn down a USGI lock so it will fit in the Chinese receiver. Takes a couple of minutes but worth the effort.

nf1e, I mostly lurk the forum, rarely ever comment, but your work is one of the things I most enjoy looking at on this site. My Dad bought me a Springfield Armory M1A in 1986 for the two plus years of Christmas' I missed whilst learning western European culture on Uncle Sam's nickel. The rifle cost just over $600 back then and remains the nicest thing my parents ever gave me for Christmas. Came to me with NM sights, TRW bolt, SA barrel/trigger housing/trigger parts. I asked him to find one for me after having the privilege of firing an XM21 with our brigade's snipers out to 1,000 meters one day during a 30 day leisure trip to "Graf". The M-14 type rifle is hands down my favorite rifle even though I only own the one Mom and Dad gave me.

Please keep posting your incredible work for us all to enjoy!

Stay Safe,
Steve

I enjoyed that panoramic view of M14 city.
Does this stamp on my trigger guard ring any bells?
I don't recognise it.
I don't want to pull the trigger housing group outta the stock.

Ditto.

I have parts that I bought long ago when working 12 hour shift work. Now that I'm retired health and interest aren't as strong. I hope to get as many put together before I die to prevent leaving as big a burden to my family as possible but so far that hasn't happened.

As always, very nice.

As said before, you have a good wife too. Most would question "why???????"

BTW, weather here is warm, high today expected near 80. Slight rain last night. However, storms passed to the North of us and killed 20+ in Mississippi last night.
