If this is not allowed please delete. Friend has an old externally adjustable scope on Ebay. WWI era sniper? Don't know anything about it.

honestly, the pictures are crap
looks vaguely like a Lyman or Winchester type (one is called the 5A the other the A5)
but honestly it could another maker from that vintage,
better pics in a better light would get him more bids

It's just one of the dozens of designs that you saw commercially back in the day.
There were a lot of no name companies trying to make scopes and cash in on the scope craze back then. A new company would pop up and be gone soon after.
It was not anything WWI or Sniper related. I seen a lot of scopes like this advertised for rimfire rifles. I doubt it would take the recoil of a centerfire rifle.
