By itself, just a somewhat high-priced 84 cadet?but I?ve been hunting for one of the rifles from my alma mater and this one is not only right in the middle of that cluster, but moreover is just one number off from one of the Baylor U. rifles listed in the first SRS book. Missed it by *that* much! Ah well, the hunt goes on.

Hello
Am I missing something, you said you missed by "that much" but it appears to be closing on the 31st at 6:41 PM??

I'm sure he means it's not a Baylor gun, not that he couldn't bid on it.

No, sorry - I meant it being just one serial number away from an SRS hit.

Is the rear sight the same as on the standard 1884 rifle?

Yes, but I'm GUESSING that the use of the .45-55 cartridge may have made up for the difference. Or, they were instructed to set the slide differently. Also, I believe they drilled a lot more than they shot. I've never seen a real technical answer. Maybe a different height front sight blade?

Thanks Dick.
