No matter what you thought of him he was a real character. His book Unintended Consequences (1996) is still sold in the US but has been banned in Canada.
He was a very a avid shooter that could bust clay pigeons with a full auto submachine. He was a class III dealer, and I bought a Registered M16-A1 from him in 1989. He ran for Congress as a Democrat but it was a TFIC attempt to aggravate the Dems. Read his book and you cannot think of him as a Progressive.
He died in April at the young age of 65. Rest in peace John.
