Sorry. No cartoon but did you know the song Jingle Bells is not an actual Christmas song?
Published under the title "The One Horse Open Sleigh" in the autumn of 1857. It has been claimed that it was originally written to be sung by a Sunday school choir for Thanksgiving, or as a drinking song.
If you think about the lyrics there's no mention of Jesus, Christmas, Holy Night, Santa, or even raindeer. It is more about an extremely jolly man (perhaps drunk) riding around in the freezing cold in an open sled being pulled by a single horse that probably wasn't too happy about the event.
In later years it was mixed with real Christmas songs due to the winter time atmosphere the song portrayed.
Now, how many of you have this song stuck in your mind now?
