I have no doubt that Lake Mead will rise some after the last six months of rainy weather. We had a great wet summer, and now it's a rainy winter going into spring.
Lake Mead has dropped a whole lot. Want to put some money on the lake will achieve its earlier height? Do I believe in Global Warming? Yes. I believe in science. But I'm not losing any sleep over it. Want to know what I really worry about?

To believe in science is an oxymoron. Science is about skepticism. The best you can say is "I am persuaded by the evidence."

Rio Verde, AZ (NE of Scottsdale) got their source of water turned off by Scottsdale on Dec 31, 2022

Rio Verde is described as an unincorporated community. It is a "wildcat" subdivision. I'm sure the sellers didn't dwell on that too much. People like to live "way out there".

They're getting some of our weather: drought or monsoon. Never anything between.

When you get these deluges there is a lot of run off, flash flooding, plus the ground is often not softened up properly to absorb it.
And between the MJ cultivation and the overbuilding they'll soon be back to drought conditions.

Sounds like a plan to me.:1948:

We're still in a drought so say the water people.
All the water pouring down just flows into the ocean.
We need more reservoirs but Newsom won't build them.
I think they like droughts because it gives them emergency powers

As part of their water conservation measures they're reducing a quart from 32 to 28 ounces.

Easier said than done. Place is crawling with democrats.

Just spent two days without power.
I'm pretty prepared with propane lanterns, butane stove, radio and wood stove,
but it's still a pain in the butt.
Shows how you're (I'm) addicted to TV, computer and my pellet stove.
How did they survive pre electricity ? Early to bed, early to rise ?
I love it in the movies when they light a candle and the whole room lights up.

Unfortunately people leave California and Californicate the states they move to.

Going camping in the winter is like living in the old days. It's -2C, the sun has set at 6:00. There's nothing to do but get in the sleeping bag. But in my younger days I could sleep twelve hours.

We are surely victims here. They move in and start with wanting to change OUR ways. Some of the "ways" we have to change to due to the increased population that would have taken us decades to reach w/o them.

And some changes would never happen if they hadn't come dragging California and California politics along behind them.
