I was able to find his handle, which was "11mm" but he was last on line here in 2021. Still want to get in touch.
Dick,
try a pm, (I know you hate that) and he may get an email alert?

Did that, waiting . . .
Was he from Valparaiso, IN? If so, he passed away last April.

That MAY have been him, I know he was from the Midwest. If so, too bad. He, some years ago, very generously gifted me with a rough machined part for reconstruction of a M1882 rod-bayonet rifle. I have finally begun work, and wanted to thank him again.51954

on a whim, and it may not have been proper, I send him an email to the email he used to sign on here,
may get a reply, may not, but I did ask him to check in and reach out to you

Good to have you back, even if you did have to be "nudged" a little bit.

I thought you might be interested in seeing that the little steel sculpture you were kind enough to make for me IS finally getting used. I felt bad at the rumor of your possible demise, thinking that I had never followed through with it - well, now I am. See earlier pic this thread.

For John (11mm), and anyone else who might be interested, further details, and more pictures of my M1882 28"barrel rod-bayonet restoration 197404, may be seen at the NEW TD site up and running under the auspices of Oldguns.net (John Spangler) a very worthy, and more user-friendly, successor to Al Frasca's most excellent and long-running forum. Al has retired, but his spirit will live on - his data, except for the forum, will be transferred to the new site, which may be found at https://armscollectors.com/trapdoor/bb/. Come and join us!

I see that I never followed up with a picture of the (95%) finished project. Here it is:
Great job! Looks wonderful.
