Of course if it get's to 120F or above I won't be out there anyway. It will hit 118 or so today and the tool room will probably hit 122 or above. I should take another gauge out there for fun.

Actually, I don't mind 115 for a short period of time. 12% humidity makes it bearable. I hate humidity and silly me agreed to go on a trip with a friend in northern Indianna.

120, 120, 120. Reminds me of my driving days from the 60's and 70's.

I've hit 100 once in my life (motorcycle). That was enough. I've ridden with someone who hit 100 (just a dumb kid) and I didn't care for that. Kind of like, 'hey, want to see my gun (at a party). It's time to go home. What did you drive that hit 120?
I did take a little digital thermometer out and it hit 120. I'd think it could go higher if it was hotter but that was the figure.

NEWS: NASA reported that due to El Nino next year might be even hotter. Great. When the monsoon finally gits to AZ maybe we will have tornados too. I can't wait.

What did you drive that hit 120?

Since you asked:

'66 Olds Toronado, '68 Olds Delta 88, '72 Ford Ranchero, '74 Yamaha 350 (just 100 though), maybe others.

Rode in '65 Buick Wildcat @ about 130, '67 Olds 442 @ 140, '57 Ford @ 120, '64 Ford Thunderbird pegged out beyond 120 driven by my grandmothers sister.

A police car or two (I was in the front seat not the back).

1961 Chrysler 300D 143 so the speedo said. Scary.

Duster 340 right to the speedo's stop pin. I have no idea how fast that was- last number on the dial was 120. Not a lot of ground contact with the front wheels at that speed. It was still in the factory boots- M/T's on the rear IIRC.

S-10 chev with an early direct injection 4 cyl got up to 118 with still a bit of go pedal left, but way too hard to control. Both were A/T vehicles.

Other than that, most of my driving has been more or less at sane speeds.

Dryheat- you are on the East side of the valley, I'm on the West. You have the same thermometer I have and in the shade of my patio it pegs out...so I don't care what the weather service says; the temp at my place is what THE REAL TEMP IS.

Don't know why but when the nonsoon does finally get here, of it does at all, I'll probably stand on my driveway and watch the East vallery and Wickenburg get the rain.

That's my complaint; it's raining everywhere except where I live. Fountain Hills gets all the rain because it's hills. I can see it from my house. But I can't complain too much.

You guys should do what I do. I have two thermometers, and when one is maxed out, I just add the reading of the other one.:icon_scratch:
